Movies released this season are mostly based on sentiments, romance and comedy. But Ashoka has come out with a different theme. It is an action based thriller.
Prem who is seen on screen after a long time, has taken up the Director’s work apart from being the hero of the film. He has given a racy script.
As per the story, Ashoka (Prem) is the Chief of the Prime Minister’s security officers. There are terrorists in the story who decide to eliminate the PM. Ashoka with his intelligence saves the life of the PM. There are a couple of villains in the film including Huzoor (Raghuvaran), Naveen, Anand Raj.
Raghuvaran comes as a terrorist hailing from Pakistan. Anand Raj is the Deputy Prime Minister. Anand Raj who owes lot to Raghuvaran does any thing he says.
So he helps Raghuvaran in his plan to assassinate the PM. How Ashoka saves the Prime Minister of the country from the talented and intelligent villains forms the rest of the story.
Director Prem has taken all efforts to make the story more realistic. He has deliberately avoided songs and comedy track in the film. This definitely is a wise move. If there were songs or comedy scenes, surely they would have put a block in otherwise fast paced script.
But of course, there are some loopholes in the film. If Prem had avoided that then the film would have been more interesting. There is sentimental track in the film, which is unwarranted.
